MSI and ASUS tease new GTX 1080s with 11Gbps GDDR5X RAM

NVIDIA's revamped GeForce GTX 1080 is nearly here, with an injection of speed into the already fast 8GB of GDDR5X, throwing its speed up to 11Gbps from the now 'stock GTX 1080' and its 10Gbps.

Both MSI and ASUS have teased their new GeForce GTX 1080 graphics cards with the faster GDDR5X @ 11Gbps, with MSI showing off its upcoming GeForce GTX 1080 Gaming X Plus. The refreshed GTX 1060 with its 6GB of GDDR5 clocked at 9Gbps, compared to the previous 8Gbps chips on the 'stock GTX 1060'.

ASUS has come out swinging with their new GeForce GTX 1080 Strix OC Edition, rocking 8GB of GDDR5X @ 11Gbps and a triple-fan cooler.
