NVIDIA has 70.5% GPU market share, AMD has 29.5%

NVIDIA gains GPU market share in Q4 2016, while AMD lost a little GPU market share.

GPU market share numbers change every couple of months, with Jon Peddie Research releasing their latest numbers for Q4 2016 - showing that AIB shipments increased quarter-to-quarter.

JPR notes that AMD's market share dropped to 29.5% in Q4, 0.3% down from its 29.8% in Q3 - but comparing it to Q4 2015 with 21.6% - AMD has come a long way. NVIDIA has increased with AMD's missing 0.3% to 70.5% this quarter, but they have dropped significantly from 78.3% in the Q4 2015.

Jon Peddie Research has been collecting AIB shipment numbers quarterly backing all the way through to 1987, where they noticed that the AIB market increased 5.6% this quarter - while the desktop PC market also increased by 19.4%.
