It has been made clear in recent times that Microsoft's upcoming OS "Windows Vista" will feature a new Desktop Compositing Engine which is said to enhance the visual quality and feel of the desktop quite substantially. In a fresh announcement from NVIDIA, they state that all of their current and future GPUs are compatible with Vista.
