- MSI 945P Platinum Motherboard launched

A new motherboard has surfaced from MSI, based on Intel's dual-core capable 945P chipset. The board looks to come with all the bells and whistles, and then some. What I found particularly interesting when scooping up the details over at EliteBastards was the addition of DTS on-the-fly encoding capabilities in the way of its audio solution. I hope we start to see more motherboard companies taking this aboard! (Can you tell I greatly miss the days of soundstorm?)

MSI has launched the latest 945P Platinum Deluxe motherboard. This world-class product, aimed at home market, supports Dual Core processor and comes with built-in DTS sound effect and next-generation dynamic overclocking to fulfill the need of players for ultimate performance and taste.

The all-new 945P Platinum motherboard uses Intel’s latest 945P chipset which targets the mainstream market. It comes with top ICH7R south bridge chipset, which utilizes Intel’s latest P4 LGA775 processor design and can work with Intel’s 800MHz FSB and 1066MHz FSB processor (including Pentium D, P4EE, Pentium 4 8xx, 5xx, 6xx and Celeron D). Users, thus, can enjoy top power at low costs. And the memory, which is of the same class as 955X chipset, uses dual channel DDR2 667 memory improving the performance considerably compared to previous DDR400 and DDR2 533.

- ASUS Introduces High Gain WLAN Antennas

ASUS have just recently kicked off a press release detailing two new wireless LAN antennas which are of course designed to allow for significantly improved wireless coverage. The two differ in that one provides 360˚ extended coverage and the other a directional extension. For further details, grab the official PR folks.

Sydney, Australia; August 5, 2005 – ASUSTeK Computer Inc. (ASUS), a leading provider of wireless network solutions, today introduced the WL-ANT150 and WL-ANT168 high-gain antennas, which provides 360˚ coverage extension and directional coverage extension, respectively, for wireless networks. The two new antennas support latest IEEE 802.11 standards (WL-ANT150: 802.11b/g, WL-ANT168: 802.11a/b/g) and offer easy installation and compatibility with wireless devices from other manufacturers to deliver a convenient wireless experience.
