- Sharkoon Announces Silent Eagle PC Case Fan

With the massive variety of different types of case fans you can buy for your PC these days, it can get awfully confusing as to which type of fan best suits your setup with regard to the performance/noise factor. Well here's a newie on the block from Sharkoon with unique "golf ball" like dimples across the fan blades, supposedly increasing air flow significantly at the same RPM as regular fans, thus one would assume better air flow at quieter noise levels, best of both worlds?! Read the official announcement for more in-depth details folks.

CaseMod(TM) manufacturer Sharkoon presents a new case fan with a completely unique design: the rotor blades of the Sharkoon Silent Eagle have the same surface structure as a golf ball. The blades are covered by small round depressions, which golfers refer to as "dimples". These slight concavities markedly improve airflow as well as reducing the noise level.

A golf ball with dimples has a trajectory four times as long as that of a smooth-surfaced ball. Without delving too deeply into the mysteries of fluid mechanics: while in flight, air circulates in the grooves, building local turbulences. These effectively wrap the ball in a cushion of air, reducing air resistance and helping to keep it aloft longer. The same principle has been in operation in nature for millions of years in the dispersion of plant pollens -- and now in the Sharkoon Silent Eagle as well, allowing for a notedly greater airflow volume with the same rpms.

- Scythe's New Katana CPU Cooler

Unveiled by Scythe the other day is a new universal heatpipe CPU Cooler dubbed the "Katana". Attached is a 92mm low-noise fan operating at 2000rpm with a CFM rating of 35. For more specs and piccies on the new cooler, head over to the official product page.

Scythe Co., Ltd (Tokyo, Japan) announces its latest innovative heatpipe CPU Cooler, Katana. Katana means the Japanese Swords, which is a perfect naming for CPU Cooler to cool the latest hot processors. This cooler has the great balance to be the ideal CPU cooler in the market! Light-Weight, High-Performance, Universal Socket Compatibility, Low-Noise, 4-way Mounting Mechanism, and Low Price!
