Apple is developing a proprietary mobile GPU, rumors claim

As seen on Apple Insider and Fudzilla, rumors state that Apple is working on its own proprietary mobile GPU, set to replace current outsourced production.

According to Fudzilla's unidentified source, Apple has been making this chip "under extreme secrecy for a few years," with this media company still receiving no ETA or confirmation of public arrival. This means that we may never see Apple release a self-made GPU, the information is not yet clear.

With current GPUs being implemented thanks to Imagination Technologies, this move by Apple could be a step towards making everything in-house, looking to streamline production and development stages of products and possibly see an increase in performance and turnover on the business side of things.
