Despite using Facebook to successfully raise millions in campaign funds which propelled him to The White House in 2008 and again in 2012, and having used Twitter for well over two years, U.S. President Barack Obama's army of media advisers has finally established a Facebook page for his administation, with less than a year to go of his eight year term.

Using his maiden post to preach about the dangers of climate change despite only recently putting his words into action, unveiling a clean power plan policy hailed by The White House as "the single most important step America has ever taken in the fight against global climate change, but decried by some commentators as spending billions of dollars while "not helping the environment", Obama is keen to solidify his legacy in this contentious policy area.




Regardless, as the looming battle between the Democratic and Republican nominations make way for the full 2016 U.S. Presidential race, platforms such as Facebook will once again prove hugely powerful in swaying public opinion.
