It's been a long standing joke between my significant other and myself that it would be amazing if there was a real Amazon store which would immediately bankrupt my savings. Well it seems Mr Bezos has heard my calls, with the company launching its first bricks and mortar bookstore in Seattle this week.
According to the Financial Times, the premier Amazon bookstore doesn't have any ticket prices, instead reflecting the pricing from the online store. Jennifer Cast, VP of Amazon Books told the Seattle Times that "We hope this is not our only [storefront]. But we'll see."
The company has yet to confirm whether more physical stores are in the cards, but are surely taking on board the suggestions and feedback from customers - not to mention the sales figures and foot traffic.
