The revival of the cult classic series 'Twin Peaks' for the Showtime Network has had a difficult birth, following a dispute which saw creator David Lynch walk away from the project before returning shortly thereafter, the death of a key actress and casting delays. Now, the network has announced the new episodes won't launch in 2016 as previously promised.

According to Deadline Hollywood, Showtime have delayed the 18 episode 'Twin Peaks' revival until 2017 - a year behind the original schedule. Kyle MacLachlan returns as FBI Agent Dale Cooper in the new episodes, alongside Balthazar Getty and Amanda Seyfried.
