- Microsoft releases 64-Bit Editions of Windows
As was pointed out in earlier news, Microsoft had planned to kick off their 64bit Windows operating systems today, and sure enough you can now read the press release covering all the details over at this section of their website.
Now we just need to wait a short while for others to fully adopt 64bit support with new driver releases and software which make full use of these extensions. There is 'some' support out there already, but not nearly enough to cater to everyone's hardware/software configuration. Nonetheless, this is a huge forward leap for all parties involved!
In saying that however, NVIDIA are quick to act as they also today demonstrate their technology alignment with Microsoft on several developments relating to the major 64bit transition now in place, and also other supporting roles.
