Movie chain sites buckling under pressure for Force Awakens pre-orders

Pre-order sales for Star Wars: The Force Awakens is generating too much traffic for some movie chains

Pre-order tickets for Star Wars: The Force Awakens is generating so much traffic for movie theater chain sites that they are buckling under the pressure, and crashing.

UK moviegoers have been trying to secure Force Awakens tickets from the likes of Odeon and Picturehouse Cinema, but their sites have already been taken down. Odeon wouldn't give out numbers on how many tickets it had sold, but -Vue- said it sold 10,000 tickets in just 90 minutes. A spokesperson for the trade publication said it was one of "the biggest first [hours] of advance ticket sales seen so far this year".

They added it would normally take weeks for ticket sales to get that high, so we should expect (like we didn't already) that Force Awakens is going to make a serious amount of money when it's released.
