- First Ever Sound Blaster with Video Editing Capabilities

Creative have just taken their sound blaster product lineup a notch further as they introduce the new "USB Sound Blaster Audigy2 ZS Video Editor", the first Sound Blaster solution to also allow for video input/editing by utilization of the award-winning LSI LogicR DoMiNoFXT technology. By means of USB connectivity, this also makes it easier for users on the go to connect the device to either a desktop or notebook PC for all their video editing/audio processing needs.

Availability is reported to be sometime in May with a (tad pricey) RRP of $499.95 AUD.

Full details in Creative's official PR folks.

Sydney, April 15, 2005 -- Creative Labs Pty Ltd, a local subsidiary of Creative Technology Ltd (NASDAQ: CREAF), a worldwide leader in high-quality audio for the PC, today announced the USB Sound Blaster® Audigy® 2 ZS Video Editor, the first ever Sound Blaster with video editing capabilities. This ultra-sleek, high-end audio system combines premier audio playback with award-winning LSI Logic® DoMiNoFX™ technology for video in one easy-to-use solution that connects to the PC via the USB 2.0 port.

"The USB Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS Video Editor is a great hardware solution for bringing all your video to any PC, to store it on a desktop or notebook or to burn it directly to DVD" said Nick Angelucci, Marketing Manager for Creative Labs Australia. "It's the ideal way to upgrading your PC or notebook into a home-studio editing suite with all the connections you need and more."

- New VIA Hyperion 4in1 drivers released

For all of you peeps with a VIA based motherboard under the hood, VIAArena have just given us the heads up on a new Hyperion 4in1 chipset driver package which brings the revision up to 4.56v. As per the below comments, this isn't a major release so dont bother updating unless you already have issues with older drivers or you're wiping the slate clean with a fresh install.

You can grab the latest driver suite here folks.

The new version 4.56v updates the AGP driver to version 4.43f. The new AGP driver simply includes new IDs for new VIA host bridges. So this driver update is not really very exciting to be honest. In fact there isn't really any reason why you would need to update your system with them. If it ain't broke don't fix it. But if you are building a PC or you haven't updated in a while then these latest ones are the ones you should use.
