- ABIT Unleashes Fatal1ty AN8 Motherboard
ABIT have just announced their latest enthusiast A64 motherboard to fall under the "Fatal1ty" branding, the super-tweaked AN8 (based on nForce4 Ultra). As expected, it's all there bar the kitchen sink. Full details in the supporting PR.
January 31, 2005 - Since the release of the Intel-based Fatal1ty AA8XE motherboard, ABIT's Fatal1ty Hardware Series has been taking the PC hardware scene by storm. Anandtech named the Fatal1ty AA8XE "the Fastest Intel Gaming Platform", and HardOCP said that the board was "bullet proof". Today, ABIT is proud to introduce the first AMD-based motherboard in the Fatal1ty Hardware Series - the Fatal1ty AN8.
- Corsair Ships XPERT Memory Modules
There's been a few previews floating around on Corsair's latest and greatest, the XPERT series of memory modules. However, today it's been made all official by Corsair, with a press release to follow suit. Ultra bling bling is the highlight, with a programmable LCD display running across the top of the modules which can display operating temperatures, voltage, and running frequencies. Fremont, California, February 1, 2005: Corsair Memory, Inc., a global leader in ultra-performance DDR memory modules for PC gamers and enthusiasts, again raises the bar on enthusiast memory, with an intelligent memory module that monitors and displays critical performance parameters.
Dubbed XPERT, this new technology uses an integrated microcontroller and embedded sensors to measure voltage, temperature, and frequency on the memory module. Each of these parameters, along with a user-programmable scrolling marquee can be shown on a big alphanumeric display that is part of the memory module. Corsair XPERT modules also have two rows of memory activity LED's that show real-time memory activity, similar to the popular Corsair PRO series.
