- VIA Introduces New PT Series Chipsets For The P4

As was expected, VIA have now formally introduced their latest Pentium IV chipsets, dubbed the PT series. The new chipsets carry a feature set which enable them to hold their own, with the PT880 Pro and PT894 solutions carrying both "native" AGP 8x and PCIe support together, as well as both DDR and DDR2 memory support, making these chipsets a very cost-friendly upgrade path as well. Boards to use the new VT8251 southbridge come with some tasty native features, such as high def. audio, SATA II, and RAID *5* capabilities.
