Trip with ATI and Gigabyte to Auckland, NZ

Last week our good friends at ATI and Gigabyte took a bunch of Aussie based web and print media to Auckland in New Zealand for a product launch / short holiday. We stayed at the Sky City Casino Hotel in the centre of the city and we all had a nice time in the small yet exiting and casual city with a population around 1.3 million. In the casino itself you are constantly given free lolly pops which is kinda off putting at first but definitely a nice touch from the Kiwi’s.

The people in Auckland are really hospitable and friendly and we all had a good time over the three days while we were in town. The highlight of the trip would have been the Minus 5 bar where you literally go inside a vodka bar all suited up in warm gear where everything is made from ice, even the glasses you drink from – it got down to minus 7 degrees Celsius while we were inside… that’s pretty cold.

Despite all the drinking, New Zealand is a very beautiful place with excitement and A grade scenery everywhere you look – maybe just a little laid back for me though. I took a bunch of photos with my new Sony 8MP camera and to say I am utterly wrapped with the camera would be an understatement. For something a little different besides computers for a change, take a look at the photos I took while at Auckland last week in this forum thread.
