I wouldn't normally say this, but it could be even better than the dated original!

Everything old is new again, with Hollywood obsessed with sequels, reboots, remakes and re-imaginings. However, the remake of the 1982 horror classic 'Poltergeist' could prove to be even better than the original. A recent re-watch of the Tobe Hooper/ Steven Spielberg film on Blu-ray confirms that it's aged very poorly in the intervening 33 years. Take a look at the newest trailer below and make up your own mind.

Starring Sam Rockwell, Rosemarie DeWitt and Jared Harris and helmed by Gil Kenan (who directed the splendid animated film 'Monster House'), 'Poltergeist' 2015 updates the story of a young family whose suburban home is attacked by a collection of violent spirits forces.

The film is released on May 22nd in the United States, and two months later on July 23rd in Australia.
