- NVIDIA announces preliminary 3rd quarter results

Ending October 24th, the NVIDIA giants have announced their bountiful preliminary financial results for the third quarter of this year. The Company expects to report total revenue for the third quarter of fiscal 2005 to be between $510 million and $515 million, as compared to the previous range of $470 million to $502 million. SINGAPORE - OCTOBER 26, 2004 - NVIDIA Corporation, a worldwide leader in graphics and digital media processors, today announced preliminary financial results for the quarter ended October 24, 2004. A product mix shift to and share gains in the GeForceĀ™ 6 GPU family contributed to strong revenue growth in the DX9 performance segment. In the third quarter, NVIDIA delivered two new GPUs, the GeForce 6600 and 6200, in addition to its award-winning GeForce 6800, and is now the industry's only top-to-bottom GPU family to support Microsoft DirectX 9 Shader Model 3.0.

 


- Intel & Clearwire To Accelerate Deployment Of WiMAX Networks Worldwide

 

Intel have sent word out today that together with Clearwire (a wireless broadband services company) they plan to collaborate and ensure deployment of wireless broadband capabilities using WiMAX networks. What does it all mean to you guys? Head over to Intel's press room for all the details.

 

As part of the collaboration, Clearwire intends to deploy WiMAX networks using wireless broadband equipment from NextNet Wireless (a Clearwire subsidiary) that includes future Intel silicon products. The joint development agreement with Clearwire is for future products supporting the upcoming IEEE 802.16e standard for WiMAX solutions found in both infrastructure equipment and notebooks. WiMAX is an emerging wireless standard that promises to provide high-speed broadband connectivity in both fixed and mobile wireless networks.
