Digital money transfer specialist Xoom has announced it will begin utilizing Apple's Touch ID technology for its own mobile money transfers app. Customers can use fingerprint biometrics to log into their Xoom app if they own an Apple iPhone 6s, 6 or 6 Plus smartphone.
The app will first determine if a user has Touch ID enabled - and if it is enabled, they are asked if they wish to use Touch ID to login. Once agreed to, they are able to authenticate the process with just their fingerprint. The Xoom App is currently available from the Apple AppStore.
"Xoom has always placed safety and security as a top priority, and now with Touch ID on the Xoom Mobile App, this presents an enhanced customer experience with authentication that is simple and highly secure," said Joe Raymond, VP of Product at Xoom. "In keeping with our mission of creating a seamless customer experience across our platform, Touch ID will make it faster and easier for our customers to send money from the Xoom App, without having to type in a password."
