Following on from nVidia's official launch at QuakeCon recently, a nice bunch of reviews have gone live today covering their latest mainstream value-based 6600 series of PCI-Express video cards. A number of the big sites out there have thrown them through the hoops, with some putting the cards up against the competition (ATI's X600 XT). Reviews have gone up over at Anandtech, Hot Hardware, Beyond 3D, Tech Report, PC Perspective, Hexus, Firing Squad, Guru3D, NVNews, Toms Hardware, XBit Labs & Bit-Tech today so far. I'll add more to this post as they surface folks.
On August 12th, NVIDIA took the wraps off their new value-based PCI-Express video cards, introducing the GeForce 6600 and 6600 GT. Back then we were given ample information in advance to do a thorough preview on what both cards brought to the game. Since our initial preview, NVIDIA provided us with a GeForce 6600 GT, which we immediately put to work in the benchmarking arena. We've been eager to see how the new GT would perform against ATI's X600, the card NVIDIA is targeting with the 6600 series. - NVIDIA showcases cutting-edge products at IDF
With another IDF (Intel Developers Forum event) taking place as of today in San Francisco, nVidia have issued a press release announcing their attendance at the event. They will be showcasing a full line-up of their products and technologies there as well as teaming up with key partners to demo how their Quadro 4000 SDI makes virtual sets for broadcast and film -- including the movie "I, Robot" -- to become a reality. This and much more with which they cover in full-depth within their supporting PR.
SINGAPORE - SEPTEMBER 7, 2004 - NVIDIA Corporation, a worldwide leader in graphics and digital media processors, today announced it will showcase a full line-up of products and technologies at the Intel Developers Forum (IDF). The demonstrations, which include PCI Express-compatible solutions from NVIDIA, highlight the Company's technology leadership.
Additionally, NVIDIA Chief Scientist David Kirk will deliver a presentation on recent innovations in computer graphics. Mr. Kirk's presentation is today at 11:00 a.m., Room 303, Moscone Center, and is open to all conference attendees including the media.
