They inform us of their 10K Raptor SATA drives to equal (and in some cases, out-pace) high performance 10K SCSI drives after StorageReview.com were to confirm this in conclusion to a series of tests just recently. The PR goes on to highlight that their Raptor series of drives with Command Queueing Technology allow for a much cheaper alternative to the once dominating SCSI hard disk sector of the market, without sacrificing any performance degradation.

WD Raptor SATA and Seagate's Cheetah 10K.6 SCSI hard drives were tested for I/O performance using command queuing in servers and across different RAID arrays. Command queuing is the ability of the hard drive to store multiple commands and intelligently re-order their execution for optimum performance in multi-user environments.
