Daily News Round #3
- Intel Pentium4 Coolers Roundup
The folks at Digital-Daily have a fresh roundup going between a bunch of new heatsinks designed for the P4 platform. Sinks included are Gigabyte's revamped 3D Cooler Ultra, along with four new coolers from ASUS - The Neptune MH7/AH7's, and Crux MM7/AM7's. It didn't take them long to pick a clear winner out of the bunch with ASUS being out of touch in the cooling game nowadays.
We tested all the coolers with Asus P4P800-E motherboard (the review will be published in the nearest future) and used Motherboard Monitor v5.3.4.0 as the monitoring utility. We also took an Intel Pentium4 3.2 Prescott stepping C processor. The processor was heated up with two running instances of BurnP6. Two running applications allow putting a full load upon the processor (remember that Northwood(D)/Prescott processors offer support for the HyperThreading).
