- Computers with 2 Graphics Cards on the Way!

Reminiscing of SLI back in the 3DFX Voodoo2 days, XBit have a fresh article up today which comments on Alienware's recent announcement highlighting their new "Video Array" & "X2" technology. It allows two video cards to be used in a single PC at the same time for superior performance, said to be implemented in the form of 2 PCI-Express 16x slots on a currently unnamed chipset from Intel. Pretty extreme stuff, and without question, involving an extreme price tag too.

Alienware, the leading manufacturer of high-performance desktop computers, notebooks, and professional systems unveiled today at the Electronic Entertainment Expo, Video Array and X2 -- an exclusive, patent-pending technology designed to significantly enhance the performance of graphics intensive applications including extreme gaming, professional design and engineering, real-time rendering and animation, and flight training and simulation modules.

- Better sound, cheap

Sick of your tinny lightweight speakers? After something half decent for your PC without paying an arm and a leg? If so, Dan's latest article would be well worth the read. He brings up some very interesting points and ideas on not only how to improve your current setup, but also in terms of upgrading your audio setup to something afforable without substituting quality.

Want big speaker sound for your computer, dirt cheap? A lot of people have an old stereo of some sort mouldering away in the garage. If not, flea market enthusiasts can easily find one for the price of a very dinky pair of new computer speakers. An elderly wood-sided receiver hooked up to a pair of plaid-grilled speakers that looked cool in 1977 will solidly sonically defeat almost all three-piece "multimedia" speaker systems, provided it works.
