KAPOW! BAM! SOCK!
To mark the 75th birthday of the caped crusader, Warner Bros yesterday announced at San Diego Comic Con a November release for one of the holy grails for Bat-fans - the release of the 1960's Batman TV show, starring Adam West and Burt Ward for both Blu-ray and DVD, marking the first time the series has ever been released to video.
After being held up due to a rights dispute between Warner Bros who own the property and Twentieth Century Fox who own the content, alongside a multitude of smaller rights issues, such as star cameos and incidental music, an agreement was finally reached last year paving the way to the debut release of the camp classic.
Warner's 13 disc Blu-ray boxset, which releases on November 11th, will include all 120 20 minute episodes remastered in 1080p, including a generous collection of behind the scenes featurettes and interviews, along with some physical swag, including a die-cast Batmobile, two books and 44 collectors cards.
