- Zip-Linq 6 in 1 Road Warrior Kit
This here is a nice little kit for those of you on the go all the time. Zip-Linq isn't a name many of us would have heard of in the past but what they have here makes you wonder why, their unique "6-in-1" road warrior kit includes a funky little mini mouse and flexible USB light along with retractable USB, Cat5 RJ45, and RJ12 (telephone) cables. A nice little package that serves it's purpose well according to the fellas at ExtremeReviews.
You may not think highly of this kit; however, it has great things to offer. All of the cables found in this kit are retractable saving you space in your storage bags and no worry of having to deal with clutter while traveling. The mini mouse is surprisingly impressive in performance. Overall, this kit is very nice and I would recommend this to anyone who travels around frequently with their computer.
- The CAS Latency Debate
ClubOC have a fresh and very interesting article up which takes a look at memory bus speeds versus memory CAS latencies in order to determine which has more of an influence on a system's performance in a typical overclocked environment. They also try out different dividers in conjunction with the timings to help paint an overall picture of how you can expect your system to behave with the various settings. Memory from both Kingston and Corsair was used for the task(s).
Memory bus speed versus memory CAS latency? This question, or some form thereof, is undoubtedly one of the most commonly repeated questions in hardware forums worldwide. While Overclocking may have been recognized and embraced by most hardware manufacturers, it is still not an industry accepted and standardized form of computer operation, except to us. While motherboard manufacturers have been including Overclocking features for years now, support for higher speed memory products from the manufacturers themselves is still relatively new. JEDEC specifications dictate tolerance for anything PC-3200 and below whereas the upper echelon of RAM timings and performance is still dependant on what brand of memory you choose. Because of this lack of JEDEC specification, the higher speed RAM may have motherboard compatibility issues and since most manufacturers do their best to test their own products, there are simply too many hardware configurations possible to guarantee 100% compatibility. Therefore, the Overclocking community is our own support group and the forums are the media of communication.
