- Monarch Hornet 64 Pro Barebones PC

On the lookout for a decent SFF machine? I think Monarch's Hornet 64 Pro would certainly fit into the "decent" catagory, although perhaps a little too big for some (but that also has it's advantages). The guys at Bjorn3D have it on the reviewing table for us today. Aside from a couple of small quirks, it has some very nice features and the Athlon64 platform speaks for itself.

I like to see features that will actually benefit an owner/user of a system or component. Most of the Hornet's features meet this criterion. The handle makes it easy to carry with you, and the temperature displays make monitoring your system a breeze! A removable motherboard tray is great on any case, but it's an even better feature for a small form-factor system to have.

- GlobalWin Silent Stream

The folks from TechwareLabs have acquired GlobalWin's Silent Stream watercooling kit for review. It looks to be nice and easy to install as well as very quiet. However, based on the results seen here, it certainly doesn't perform up to the likes of a high-end performance heatsink, making this ideally suited to HTPC setups and the like.

As everyone knows by now CPU's are heating up at an alarming rate. Keeping them cool has become the preoccupation of many manufacturers and an increasingly larger issue with chip manufacturers. Using water to cool the processor inside a computer is not a new idea, in fact there are several aftermarket kits available to choose from. Some of these kits claim easy installation and performance, but until now all of these "easy" use kits involved either residence in a drive bay, or a design which did not perform well, or produced high noise levels. GlobalWin claims to have solved these issues with its introduction of the Silent Stream product.
