VIA C3 866MHz Processor Review

By: (more) | CPU, APU & Chipsets News | Posted: Oct 4, 2001 3:21 am

Legion Hardware has just posted up a review of the VIA C3 866MHz Processor. here's a snip:

"Apart from being the markets quietest processor the C3 is also the coldest processor I have ever seen. Sure whoops the AMD processors in this category. Sure you and I don't care about the temperature as long as it's fast and it works, most people couldn't give a damn if the processor is 18 degrees or 40 degrees. The problem with 1~1.4GHz T-Birds is the insane temperature that they operate at and "Tom" recently demonstrated this. The problem I have with my 1.44GHz T-Bird is when come summer each year my CPU goes from being 35 degrees to 49+ degrees which means I have at least two problems, crashes become far more frequent and I need a bigger, faster louder fan on my ThermoEngine."
