The folks over at Hardware Zone have checked out a USB 2.0 / Firewire external drive unit from Western Digital over the weekend. It includes their WD2500JB (250gb 7,200rpm) hard disk, and also an 8-in-1 card reader.
Western Digital's latest Media Center external drive combines the best of their desktop storage solution with features supporting all the various solid-state media devices. Built specifically for both the corporate or home user who needs a portable backup device in addition to doubling its support for various card standards, the Western Digital Media Center aims to please with both performance, compatibility and flexibility.

Windows XP SP2 should only be a few months away from public release. The more I use it the more I like it! On top of what I've found just by using it I read alot of Microsoft's 200 page document and found some additional goodies that will kick in in the future. The only reason why I'm writing this today is because it seems like 100% of the coverage on this has been about the security center. Yes this is an important step for Microsoft, but I want to show you guys some of the extra stuff nobodies talked about yet.
