- New Stylish "Expand Box" By Gigabyte

Gigabyte have today launched their new "Expand Box" device. It fits into a 3.5" bay and allows for easy accessibility to your firewire, USB, and audio line-in/out jacks. More details in their official news release. Personally, I have to say I don't know why companies produce these sorts of devices anymore, with almost all PC cases nowadays (be it on the cheap or not) already having built-in USB/firewire/audio jacks at the front or top. Oh well, to each their own.

The Gigabyte Expand Box provides easy access to traditionally rear-mounted ports such as USB, FireWire, and audio jacks and combines them all into one single unit. The device can be easily inserted into any 3.5-inch external drive bay and secured using included screws. Installation of the Expand Box is straightforward and requires only its internal IEEE 1394, USB 2.0 and audio ports to be connected to the respective headers on the motherboard. There is no requirement for software drivers- just plug and play! With the Gigabyte Expand Box, users also no longer need to become frustrated with the difficulty of locating hard to reach ports and connectors behind your computer. Fewer connected peripherals also mean fewer tangled cables at the back of your computer to allow you to move your PC with ease!
