- SiS offers DDR2-800, PCI Express and no AGP in 2004

Anandtech have obtained exclusive information covering SiS's roadmap for this year. Just a couple of the hefty changes made... no more AGP support on upcoming Pentium4 flagship chipsets, it's PCI express time. Also, goodbye to AthlonXP boards, the entire focus now being on Athlon64.

SiS' P4 chipset roadmap is very similar to Intel's in that none of their flagship chipsets this year will feature AGP support; SiS is moving very aggressively to PCI Express for graphics. This leaves VIA as the only chipset vendor providing a dual AGP/PCI Express solution for the Pentium 4.

Also unlike VIA, SiS does not include any PCI Express interface other than the x16 slot off of the North Bridge. The SiS South Bridges will initially offer 2 PCI Express x1 slots in April but then by the end of the year we'll see the 966 South Bridge with support for 4 PCI Express x1 slots.

- Thermaltake Product Roundup

LegionHardware have rounded up a few of Thermaltake's products for review. Namely the Hardcano 12 Fan Monitor/Controller, Venus 12 Athlon64 Heatsink/Fan, and Extreme Spirit North/Southbridge cooling kit. They tested all three products together and seemed very happy with the results.

These three products have worked wonderfully together, complementing each other in a number of ways. The Venus 12 kept the Athlon64 3200+ processor reasonably cool, while the Extreme Spirit managed the chipset temperatures. Then it was up to the HardCano 12 to monitor and manage the entire systems cooling setup. The HardCano 12 would have to be my favorite of the three as it really is a useful tool. With no intention of discrediting the Venus 12 and Extreme Spirit I just felt the HardCano 12 is a more unique product. Although there are several other products that perform similar functions, I believe none do it with as much style as the HardCano 12.
