GoPro blacks out its Hero 3 action camera with a stealthy new housing

GoPro unveils a new stealthy black housing for its Hero 3 line of action cameras, enables cameras to virtually disappear in the dark for better covertness

Have you ever found yourself annoyed by the clear case designed to house your GoPro action camera? Maybe you have been frustrated because hiding the camera in the dark was all but impossible thanks to its blinking red and blue light? The folks over at GoPro have heard your cries and have came up with a solution that will please everyone.

THe new Blackout case from GoPro has been designed to work with the company's Hero 3 and Hero 3+ models of rugged action cameras. This new dark housing does a good job at hiding the shiny, reflective, silver surface of the GoPro, while a rubber plug effectively blocks out the LED as well. The black-out case is waterproof up to 130 feet, and is just as rugged as the clear version. Additionally, GoPro has also updated its minimalist Frame Housing to now allow the USB and Video out ports to be exposed and accessible, something I am sure the FPV RC Aircraft community will be happy to hear. The Blackout Case retails for $49, while the Minimal Frame will cost consumers $39.
