- I-Star D-300 Storm Rackmount Case

The folks at OCIA have checked out one of I-Star's Rackmount cases, the type often seen in server rooms. It could also potentially be an ideal setup at home for some people.

I have long been a fan of rackmountable cases. A few years ago a friend of mine bought a rack and two rackmount cases to go with it. Then he followed up with a rackmount 16-port switch. All of this was tucked away neatly beside his computer desk. I was in awe the first time I saw it. Sure, I had seen many racks in server rooms and all, but nobody that used them for their own personal use. Granted, it did have its downfalls… It wasn’t exactly convenient to pack up everything and lug it to a LAN party. And a home decorator would’ve had a cow seeing a rack in the middle of a room, but then again, we’re not home decorators. Anyway, on with the show.

- Thermal Paste Shootout

Gruntville have compared a few brands of thermal paste covering Artic Silver's 5, Ceramique, & OCZ Ultra II. More consistant results are seen here with AS5 being a clear winner.

Well you went out and spent over two hundred for a top-of-the -line water cooling system, but still want to get more out of your ninety dollar CPU? You’ve tried overclocking, but you always have problems with heat, even with the best of blocks. Not sure why? Perhaps it has something to do with your thermal paste and how you’re applying it.
