- Albatron Launches The KX600S Pro

This just in from Albatron Technology. They've recently launched the KX600S Pro mainboard which is based on the latest VIA KT600/8237 chipset. The official document containing further information on specifications etc. can be obtained by right clicking here and choosing "save target as".

 


- Budget CPU Shootout: Clash of the 'rons

 

Anandtech have rounded up a bunch of budget CPU's ranging from various lower end Pentium 4, Athlon XP, Celeron, and Duron solutions. One thing that particularly caught my attention was that it's made quite clear the once trusty ole'Celeron has become nothing more then a high clock speed nowadays, whilst the much lower clocked Duron takes charge in the performance catagory with ease. Go AMD!

 

As we've seen through our extensive benchmarking, the Celeron's performance is truly dismal; so while Intel is quite competitive in the mid-range and high-end segments, their value processors are inexcusably slow compared to AMD.
