- GeForce4 MX making a return

The folks over at X-Bit labs reckon that the value-end GeForce4 MX GPU by nVidia is making a return in the form of the GeForce MX4000 with DirectX 7 capabilities as well as Vertex Shader processing.

 

 

The solution will be based on the good-old NVIDIA GeForce4 MX design supporting DirectX 7 capabilities as well as Vertex Shader processing. The GPU has two rendering pipelines with two TMUs per each - NVIDIA's proven and efficient architecture of DirectX 7 class chips. The graphics processor of the new GeForce MX4000 design is rumored to be clocked at 275MHz.

 


- Windows XP SP2 coming

I saw over at The Tech Report that Beta News is reporting that Microsoft has announced to their beta testers that Windows XP SP2 will be ready in several weeks to check out. It shouldn't be too far off now.

 

Microsoft is gearing up to release a beta version of Windows XP Service Pack 2. An e-mail sent out Thursday invited testers to install and evaluate the pre-release code when it becomes available within the next several weeks.
