Apple's highly anticipated Mac Pro was expected to begin shipping this month, but it now appears that the Cupertino-based company's flagship will now ship to consumers in December. First shown off earlier this year at WWDC 2013, the Mac Pro somewhat resembles an under-desk trashcan, but as we all know, looks are deceiving.
The entry-level model houses an Intel Xenon E5 quad-core processor that is clocked to 3.7GHz, and packs in 12GB of ECC RAM. A pair of AMD FirePro D300 GPUs and a 256GB SSD round things out. Those needing more power can upgrade to a 12-core processor, 64GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD. Dual AMD FirePro D700 GPUs are available with 6GB of RAM each as well. Standard on all models is support for upto three 4K displays, or six monitors utilizing Thunderbolt connectivity. Bluetooth 4.0, 802.11ac Wi-Fi, and dual Gigabit ethernet is onboard as well to handle connectivity. Pricing starts at just $2,999.
