According to comScore, Google is still chewing through 51.6% of the US market share for the quarter ending in August with its Android platform, but this number is down 0.8% compared to the previous quarter.

Apple's iOS platform gained that missing percent, driving up from 39.2% to 40.7% this quarter. Moving onto manufacturers, as you may have guessed Samsung is still on top with 24.3% of the US market, which is up 1.3% since May. The closest competitor to Samsung is HTC, with 7.4%, which dropped 1% moving from the May quarter to the August quarter.

Motorola and LG are still in the game with 6.9% and 6.7%, respectively.
