Recently, Valve's internal "User Picker" tool leaked to the public which apparently confirms the development of Half-Life 3. The User Picker tool was designed by Valve to track projects and assign personnel to projects easily, but was never designed for outside eyes to see. The tool basically list all employees who are working on a specific project and provides organizes listing of their name, user name, and internal email address.
Fans of the Half-Life series were able to use the program to discover the full list of Valve employees who have been assigned to Half-Life 3. 46 developers are currently working on the game, with 10 of them directly tied to the games core development. An internal tool like this does not simply leak from a very secretive company like Valve, and it leaves us wondering if the leak is real, or if Valve purposely let the program slip to ease some of the growing tension between fans and the company.
