If you have been waiting to get your hands on Windows 8.1, then you are in luck! Today Microsoft opened up pre-orders for its updated operating system which will launch later this month, on October 18th. Today's announcement comes shortly after the company wrapped up development back in August.

Over the last month and a half, Microsoft says that it has been focusing on fine tuning the OS and tweaking everything to make the entire user experience even better. The Redmond, Washington based company says that Windows 8.1 will retail for $119.99 for the standard version, while Windows 8.1 Pro will set consumers back $199.99.
