- Chaintech @ Computex 2003

I think more companies should do this type of thing for all the people who cannot make all the trade shows around the world. Barbie from Chaintech in Taiwan sent us through a PDF file which takes you on a little journey of the Chaintech booth from Computex last week. If you are a fan of the Chaintech line of products, check this out.

I have uploaded the PDF file to our servers which you can download. Please right click on this link and "Save Target As".

- ATI Radeon 9800 XT Parties

It seems like ATI also know how to host a really happening tech party, at least according to Andrew over at Spode's Abode who attended the launch party of the Radeon 9800 XT in Munich. After being driven through a war-like zone to resemble Half Life II, guests were treated to the free open bar and dancing girls. Sheesh, where was my invitation guys?

Next step, we were all put on board a bus and driven through what felt like a war-torn army controlled town. Several AT's were running around, blowing cars up, being shot down and one fellow was entirely on fire. About 3 minutes into this ordeal, I had the great idea of taking a few video clips using my digital camera. If you have broadband, download them as it gives you a very good feel of what it was like. If you are on 56k, I would just use your imagination...

And around about the same time, ATI were holding another launch party for their new Radeon 9800 XT in the United States just outside of San Francisco at The Rock aka Alcatraz. 10 points go to ATI for creatively with this launch. Anna from X-Bit Labs has all the coverage.

Yesterday, On September 30, 2003 ATI Technologies invited a lot of press people, channel customers, distributors and partners to an unprecedented event known under the codename "ATI on Top at The Rock". I was among the lucky ones who got invited to join the party and luckily already managed to regain some energy lost during the Computex show in Taipei. So, yesterday, on Tuesday, at 6 p.m. all the invited guests gathered together in San Francisco on Pier 41 to get the badges and then depart to one of the major tourist attractions in this city: the Rock also know as Alcatraz.
