Valve is planning three big announcements next week

Valve says it will make three big announcements next week about bringing Steam into the living room. Steam Box rumors soon to come!

Next week is going to be big for Valve as the company plans to make "three big announcements" that are said to be centered on bringing Steam into the living room and onto your TV. Of course, these announcements will most likely pertain to Valve's long rumored Steam Box gaming console.

While there no promises that we will see an actual Steam Box on display, the chance of hardware making an appearance is very likely. We all know that Valve CEO Gabe Newell is a genius in his own right, and the idea of Valve launching its Steam Box console just ahead of the release of next-gen consoles could prove to be very lucrative.

When you think about it, would you rather purchase a next-gen console for several hundred dollars and still have to buy games, or would you rather purchase a Steam Box for which you already have dozens of games to play? If the Steam Box is released next week, you can expect the console gaming world to be turned upside down.

Update: Valve has just posted the following image on Steam. See it for yourself at the source below.
