Microsoft is focused on adding original video content to Xbox One

Microsoft said to be exploring hundreds of TV show ideas to be featured on the Xbox One (NASDAQ:MSFT)

In a recent interview, Microsoft vice president Phil Spencer revealed that the company is incubating "literally hundreds of ideas" for original content shows that would be featured on the Xbox One. This builds on an announcement from the company earlier this year in which they said they would be offering interactive video content for the upcoming console.

Of course, the live-action Halo television series will be the first of these original content TV shows brought to the Xbox One. During the interview, Spencer said that we can expect a new announcement regarding the original TV shows sometime in the near future. Microsoft hired former CBS executive Nancy Tellem to head up the new TV shows, so at least Microsoft is trying to do things the right way.
