- AquaMark3 - Early Access FAQ - V1.02

Alexander from Massive Development in Germany, the makers of AquaMark3, just sent us through their latest FAQ which answers questions about their highly anticipated DX9 benchmark which will become available on the 15th of this month.

I have posted the FAQ in our Benchmarking Center Forum.

Q: What is ASGRA for?

A: while aquamark3 is running you always can capture a screen by pressing the
'print' key, the uncompressed tga will be put into your 'my
documents\aquamark3\' directory. however with ASGRA you get much more! the ASGRA
technique creates screenshots at identical frame counter positions. with this
you easily can compare screenshots under different settings or even different
graphic cards!

- Athlon 64 for sale in Japan

Stop the press! According to X-Bit Labs, 64-bit AMD Athlon processors have hit shop shelves in Japan and cost around $475 US a piece. What I would give to be living in Japan right now…

As estimated, AMD's Athlon 64 3200+ for Socket 754 with single-channel PC3200 memory controller, 1MB L2 cache and 128KB of L1 cache costs a bit less than $500 - roughly $475. The CPUs were made on the 30th week of the year 2003 and are clocked at 2.0GHz, according to an Akiba report. In case such frequency could be achieved in production quantities back in late July, products with higher - 2.20GHz - core-clock should be definitely available by the end of September.

- Corsair Pro Series XMS

I noticed over at Dark Vision Hardware that Corsair are about to launch their new series of Pro Series XMS which has LED's on top of the module and flashes when the RAM is active. Cool!

[H]ardOCP reports that Corsair is going to introduce a new type of extreme memory ; the Pro Series - XMS. Special about these is that they have a few LEDs on top, which act like a VU meter to show the memory activity.

- FX 5900 and 5900 Ultra vs. Radeon 9800 and 9800 Pro

It's back to X-Bit Labs again for this story where they have posted an interesting article comparing the performance of nVidia's GeForce FX 5900 and 5900 Ultra cards against ATi's Radeon 9800 and Radeon 9800 Pro with cards from Chaintech, Gainward and Sapphire.

Today we are going to compare the performance NVIDIA GeForce FX 5900 and 5900 Ultra based graphics cards with their rivals from the ATI family: solutions on ATI RADEON 9800 and 9800 Pro. The full set of benchmarks, absolutely new gaming tests, impressive overclocking results and more!
