Promise shows Thunderbolt 2-equipped devices

Promise Technology shows off Thunderbolt 2-equipped devices ready to ship (NASDAQ:INTC, TPE:3057)

| Storage News | Posted: Sep 12, 2013 3:08 pm

IDF 2013 - Promise Technology showed off several different devices equipped with Thunderbolt 2. Promise's Pegasus line of storage devices are ready to ship, though the ones seen in the video may not be the final physical form. However, Promise says they are ready to ship the devices as soon as Thunderbolt 2 is officially launched by Intel and partners.

Promise has also updated their SANLink product with 8Gbps Fiber connections and Thunderbolt 2. This product will be important for users who purchase the new Mac Pro and need to connect to a Fiber SAN as the new Mac Pro doesn't feature available PCIe expansion ports.
