Included with the Slim is WD Smartware Pro data protection software, which we have had the chance to look at on a number of occasions. This software is one of the more full featured applications available in that it allows users to back-up their data straight to the My Passport while maintaining an additional copy on their Dropbox account.

The My Passport Slim will be available in 1TB and 2TB capacities, with the 1TB model measuring just 4.3"x3.1"x0.48" and 2TB coming in at 4.3"x3.1"x0.7". Each of these external storage solutions come with a very nice three year warranty from WD. The 1TB model will be immediately available from the WD Store and online retailers. The 2TB will follow in the next quarter.
