Microsoft updates OneNote app, works on iPad as standalone app now

Microsoft's OneNote app for iOS gets updated to allow the program to function completely independantly of a PC (NASDAQ:MSFT, NASDAQ:AAPL)

Today, Microsoft released an update to the company's OneNote app for iOS. The update brings in new functionality that allows the application to become fully standalone on the iPad. Microsoft says that many of its customers requested the ability to create new notebooks from within the app on the iPad, which led to this feature being added to this update.

Additionally, the company is adding a functionality that allows users to add, rename, and delete selections, which is achieved by tapping the desired selection title to bring up the options.
