IFA 2013 - ASUS has announced a refreshed version of its Fonepad 7 smartphone, which features a new non-slip finish, as well as faster HSPA+ 3G which is capable of delivering up to 42Mbit/s download speeds.

Inside the Fonepad 7 we have Intel's Atom Z2560 dual-core processor clocked in at 1.6GHz which features Hyper-Threading technology, a 7-inch 1280x800-pixel IPS display, dual front speakers with ASUS' SonicMaster audio technology. Filling out the rest of the specs, we find 1GB of RAM, 8/16/32GB of on-board flash storage which is expandable through microSD, a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera, and a 1.2-megapixel shooter up front.

ASUS has provided all of this in a smartphone that is only 10.5mm thick, and weighs just 340g. Considering it's a 7-inch smartphone, it shouldn't weigh your hand down too much. Currently no pricing or ETA has been announced, but I'm sure we'll hear about that soon.
