Samsung unveils Galaxy Tab 3 Kids, a 7-inch Android tablet for kids

Today, Samsung officially announced the existence of its rumored Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Kids, a 7-inch Android-based tablet designed specifically for kids with education in mind. The tablet comes pre-loaded with many "top ranked" kid-friendly applications as well as a brand-new Kids Store that features kid-friendly apps.

"It's no secret that kids are using technology more than ever before," said JK Shin, CEO and Head of IT & Mobile Communication at Samsung Electronics. "We saw an opportunity to create a device just for kids that provides them with an intuitive, fun and kid-friendly user experience filled with rich, interactive and educational content that parents will love."

 

The tablet features a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, and a three-megapixel front-facing camera. A 1.3-megapixel rear-facing camera is also present as is a kid-friendly grip that doubles as a stand. No pricing information was given, but the tablet will first become available in Korea early next month and will then slowly roll out to the rest of the world over the holiday season.
