Sony releases video teaser of upcoming flagship smartphone Honami

New video from Sony shows off upcoming 21-megapixel Honami in a new light (NYSE:SNE, TYO:6758)

Today marks the third time in the last five days that Sony has teased us with glimpses of its upcoming flagship smartphone, the Honami. Today, the company officially released a new teaser video that shows the upcoming phone in very tightly cropped and fleeting poses, though at one point we do see the entire phone tossed into a pool of water.

The video was released via the company's Sony Xperia Twitter account with a post alluding to the device being renamed to the Xperia Z1. "3...2....what comes next? #Sept4 #bestofSony," the post read. It should be noted that the phone looks strikingly similar to the Xperia Z smartphone, and with the "The best of Sony is about to get even better," slogan, the Xperia Z1 name change makes lots of sense. Sony is expected to launch the "Honami / Xperia Z1" next week at the IFA trade show in Berlin, Germany. Stay tuned to TweakTown for full launch coverage.
