Gamescom 2013 is a success, with a record attendance of over 340,000

Gamescom 2013 saw over 340,000 people in attendance, a 23% increase from last year's numbers

Gamescom 2013 has taken over the gaming world for the past couple of days, but the gaming conference has also seen some large numbers, too. Last year, Gamescom had an attendance of 275,000 people compared to this year, where over 340,000 people came to check out the gaming goodies.

Gamescom 2012's numbers could be blamed on the lack of attendance from Microsoft and Nintendo, and this year's numbers can be attributed to the nearly-here next-gen consoles. The 340,000 attendees is a nice 23% increase from 2012's numbers, with 635 exhibitors from over 40 countries in attendance compared to last year with just 600 attendees.
