Flash Memory Summit 2013 - This week Swapna Yasarapu sat down with Paul Alcorn to discuss the SSD market and sTec's newest SSDs at FMS 2013. For those of you who have never heard of sTec, they have traditionally been a major supplier of solid state storage to many OEMs around the world. Recently HSGT has announced its plans to acquire sTec, which is mentioned in the video.

Yasarapu began the interview by talking about how sTec has been working over the last year and a half to expand their presence throughout their channels as well as end users. Paul shows off sTec's new SAS solution, which he says is the smallest SAS SSD he has ever seen.

This new SSD greatly improves the density one is able to fit in smaller form factor servers. A 1.8-inch form factor alongside a thickness of just 5mm makes this truly the next generation of SAS SSD solutions.
