Weinger said that Samsung was extremely excited about the new 3D V-NAND technology, and that the 20-percent increase in performance and 40-percent increase in power efficiency is backed up by a major increase in reliability. The new 3D V-NAND technology is rated up to 35,000 PE cycles where typical MLC drives today are only rated for around 3,000 PE cycles.
